WE’RE SO GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR HELPING US FIGHT FOOD INSECURITY AND MAKING THE 2025 JEWISH FOOD FESTIVAL A SUCCESS!

It warmed our hearts to see nearly 1,000 community members enjoying delicious favorites from the J Café; tasting bagels, blintzes, and more from our local small business vendors; celebrating Purim with our fire juggler and costume parade; and taking selfies with the pickle mascot!

It is truly one of our favorite events of the year, as we live out our organization's mission and vision of being a vibrant hub for our Jewish community.

Some highlights:

  • Sales of raffle tickets, t-shirts, and food generated more than $20,000 for our Food Pantry. Those proceeds will sustain our work for an entire year!

  • Over 50 shopping bags full of hygiene products, shelf-stable food, and fresh produce were donated to the Food Pantry on-site.

  • A young community member's B’nai Mitzvah project, sharing information about food insecurity and collecting shelf-stable foods, helped generate those 50+ shopping bags of groceries for our Food Pantry.

  • Dozens of volunteers and staff dedicated many hundreds of hours over six months to bring the Jewish Food Festival to fruition.

  • Fun fact: It takes more than 100 dozen eggs to make all of the food!

  • Eight small businesses local to Durham, including multiple Jewish-owned businesses, generated more than $4,000 in revenue for themselves!

  • Mazel tov to Kelly G. (winner of our 50/50 raffle), Ruth T. (winner of our second prize local foodie gift package), and Jenny K. (taking home a gift bag of Jewish for Good swag). Thanks to all who entered this year’s raffle!
