WE’RE SO GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR HELPING US FIGHT FOOD INSECURITY AND MAKING THE 2025 JEWISH FOOD FESTIVAL A SUCCESS!
It warmed our hearts to see nearly 1,000 community members enjoying delicious favorites from the J Café; tasting bagels, blintzes, and more from our local small business vendors; celebrating Purim with our fire juggler and costume parade; and taking selfies with the pickle mascot!
It is truly one of our favorite events of the year, as we live out our organization's mission and vision of being a vibrant hub for our Jewish community.
Some highlights:
Sales of raffle tickets, t-shirts, and food generated more than $20,000 for our Food Pantry. Those proceeds will sustain our work for an entire year!
Over 50 shopping bags full of hygiene products, shelf-stable food, and fresh produce were donated to the Food Pantry on-site.
A young community member's B’nai Mitzvah project, sharing information about food insecurity and collecting shelf-stable foods, helped generate those 50+ shopping bags of groceries for our Food Pantry.
Dozens of volunteers and staff dedicated many hundreds of hours over six months to bring the Jewish Food Festival to fruition.
Fun fact: It takes more than 100 dozen eggs to make all of the food!
Eight small businesses local to Durham, including multiple Jewish-owned businesses, generated more than $4,000 in revenue for themselves!
